Dental Excellence
Temple University is rooted in the belief that education should be available to anyone on the basis of intellectual and personal motivation, regardless of their income. In this spirit, we are eager to assist all students in affording an education.
Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more.

Financial Assistance for Students
Students who consider themselves to be financially disadvantaged and wish to have their financial aid file reviewed for university assistance (e.g., Health Professionsl Student Loan (HPSL) and Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS), must complete the entire parental section of the FAFSA application by Feb. 1. All students applying for Temple University assistance are strongly encouraged to use the data retrieval tool on the FAFSA website to provide IRS tax information.
The Federal Direct Loan Program (FDLP) enables eligible students to borrow funds directly from the U.S. Department of Education. Students may borrow up to $42,700 each year through this program. An electronic promissory note is necessary to obtain the loan.
For additional funding to assist with living expenses and other costs beyond tuition, accepted students may apply for the Graduate Plus Loan. A credit check is required for this loan. Due to credit check timing, the Graduate Plus application should not be completed until new students are contacted by the Office of Admissions or the Office of Student Financial Services. Please contact us for more information.
Merit-based scholarships are defined as a combination of 60% academic and 40% non-cognitive aspects. Accepted students are automatically evaluated for funding, and eligibility for these scholarships are determined by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs.
Need-based scholarships are offered to financially disadvantaged students. Accepted students are automatically evaluated for consideration based on submitted self-reported and documented financial information.
