Description
In November 2023, Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry (TUKSoD) was awarded a prestigious U01 grant by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research to advance research in the field of periodontal disease prediction using cutting-edge machine learning techniques (1U01DE033259).
In addition, this award facilitates the training of clinical faculty and students in the 12-credit Applied Clinical Research Graduate Certificate program, with a focus on Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, or Health Policy. This program is administered by the College of Public Health's Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and is open to a diverse range of students, including those from the general public interested in pursuing the certificate as non-degree seeking students.
Faculty and students participating in the certificate over the next 3 years are expected to develop small scale clinical research projects with the mentorship of senior full-time research faculty. This award has also facilitated the creation of a research-based CE program offered to all the school community virtually. Recordings of these sessions are available below.
